Results of the Greening Campaign are in!
The Greening Campaign is about local people taking local action about climate change. Our residents have taken small actions, all adding up to make a big difference. These simple challenges were taken on board over the summer:
- Turning off lights when leaving a room
- Turning off all standbys
- Washing laundry at 30'c
- Walking if journey is less than a mile
- Boiling only the amount of water needed
- Turning the thermostat down by 1'c
- Turning off taps when brushing teeth
- Reducing shower time by 1 minute
We have been round and counted the cards and calculated how much C02 we have saved together, and can proudly announce our results as follows:
Total annual C02 savings - 10,659kg
Total annual water savings - 26,889 litres

Village Referendum into Potential Wind Turbine at Gunthorpe Lock
Results are now in, and can be confirmed as follows:
Results are now in, and can be confirmed as follows:
- From a total number of 333 forms issued to households, 110 responses were received. This equates to a 33.03% response rate, which has met the threshold sought by the Parish Council.
Of the 110 responses:
- 64 (58%) registered an objection.
- 46 (42%) registered no objection.
The Parish Council will use these results to form its stance towards any planning application that may be submitted in respect of the proposed wind turbine.
